Last night I caught this summo bass at the Grumpy Old Man Hole. I didn't have a scale or tape, but measured against the rod it was over 18 and it had to be at least 4, so I'm calling it 4.

It looks like Greg Huff aka "Lazy Ike-The Singing Angler" of "Twin Cities Limits" by Treble Hook, Inc. podcast blog is throwing his hat in the ring with this 19.25" largie. Apparently he caught it from the back of Rich's Bassin Blog Lindgren's boat on Bass Opener.

Matt Peters with a Hawg

Truth be told, last year it's very possible that Bass Pro/Fishing Guide Matt Peters of fishwithmatt.com would have won the BP Derby if he would have only given weights or lengths for some of the massive fish he caught last year. Also problematic with Matt is he is usually fishing with others and you don't know who caught what fish when there was some form of measurement to go by.

Anyway, I'm Facebook friends with Matt and he posted this picture there and actually gave a weight, so it counts. I have no doubt that Matt would be in the lead right now if he were to go out of his way to let me know the size of fish he has caught since Saturday.
